A quiet residential village on the more mountainous southern...
A quiet residential village on the more mountainous southern end of the Traunsee, picturesquely embedded in its dramatic surroundings. Wooden boat houses fringe the water's edge like an ancient lake village, and there is a small campsite, bathing beach and beach cafe. Rindbach invites an evening stroll, with enough quaint and traditional cottages and villas along some of its small streets to transport you to another time. For practical facilities (shops, tourist information, train station), the small town of Ebensee is less than a mile away, and for summer walking and as a base to discover the area, I reckon it's probably a more relaxed option than the more famous nearby tourist spots like Bad Ischl or Wolfgangsee.
