Fabulous historic town - lots to do - we did the Escape Room...
Fabulous historic town - lots to do - we did the Escape Room which was great fun. The rail trails were great for cycling and we did a wine tasting at Indigo Winery and enjoyed a platter there afterwards in the garden. Worth making the trip to Stanley in the evening as the pub there is fantastic - great food and ambiance. The Beechworth honey shop was great too - the honeycomb is a must. Beechworth is a beautiful historically significant country...
Beechworth is a beautiful historically significant country town, either as a holiday destination or a base for exploring the whole region. Whether it is walking, shopping, eating, sightseeing, there is something for everyone. It is an easy town to walk around. Visitor Information in the old Shire building were very helpful for tour info, miners right and gold panning maps, etc. The gold tour opposite was very informative and interesting. The Burke Museum had fascinating displays including a Thylacine and other taxidermy birds and animals you might never see in the wild. As well as historical artefacts relating to Burke. Queen Victoria Park has some spectacular trees planted in the early days of the town. One of my favourite towns in Victoria, never get tired of visiting.Guest review byHilet18Australia - 10.0

Great little spot for a long weekend. Super friendly town, good old fashioned pubs abs service. Wonderful little shops to poke around in. Wonderful bush walking and excellent bike trails. Relaxed town with plenty to offer the slow-paced retiree. There's a good walking trek just next to the town. A few walking tours through the town that makes it interesting. The town suffered an internet outage during our visit which left us in a dilemma as everything was Cash Only and we had little. Fortunately IGA was the only store that had satellite and it allowed us to access cash and allowed us to purchase food and drinks.Guest review byIan OhAustralia

The rural view from the king suite is spectacular. The room is very comfortable and has everything you need for a couple of nights. The large shower rose is a winner. It’s a short drive into town but we prefer the 15 minute walk which gives us the chance to checkout the lovely old homes along the way. We finally got to have a meal at the Stanley pub. A short walk to the centre of town in a very quiet area. It’s so special to visit historic Beechworth and stay in a genuine part of its early history. Excellent value for money. The hotel is walking distance from the town center though the walk back to the hotel is all up hill. All staff were lovely, Their restaurant was closed during the stay period.
