Botanical gardens need some work as some areas were neglected but worth the visit. Waterfront was excellent & loved the view, semicircle walk way in the water, seating area etc We went to Westfield shopping centre to cafe & Coles. This shopping centre has variety of shops. Last time we were in town we went to the Old Goal, the mini golf course, Port Arlington Golf Club (bistro), Colac Golf Club (played 18 holes), the waterfront and the Fairy Park. We enjoyed all of the above, with the Fairy Park on the big rock being a wow factor (and this was for 2 middle aged adults travelling without kids). This time we were in town only overnight for a funeral however can recommend those things based on our previous visit. We visited Geelong for the purpose of attending the Geelong Beer Festival. Our accommodation at Rydges was excellent and very convenient to the Festival (which was in Johnstone Park).
