This place is absolutely amazing. The staff sent messages to me explaining the checkin process with all the details. It is more like an apartment and has everything you may need. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the laundry machine and dryer are very handy. We met the owner when we checked out in the morning, who was very friendly and checked if we had a good time. We strongly recommend this place.

We found the buisness staff friendly.

We found the buisness staff friendly. Sale had a lot to offer. Lovely lakes within walking distance and parks to enjoy a picnic or quiet moment taking in the wild life. The weather was surprizing for this time of the year.( late July) The town has everything for all kind of travellers. Could have syayed longer and will be coming back to stay a little longer.

Sale is an interesting place. A comfortable size town. The surrounding area is pleasant. The Gippsland gallery is superb. Wonderfully curated exhibitions. I went for the Meine and Turner exhibitions from Melbourne. Will go again.

The Art Gallery in Sale is always a pleasure to visit as the exhibits change regularly and are so well displayed. Nice location too, near the water with a few nice cafes. The township has a good range of shops and some very good restaurants.

The History is interesting. The Art Gallery is excellent.

The History is interesting. The Art Gallery is excellent. We enjoyed the cruise from Port Sale to the swing bridge on the Rubeena with Alan. Easy town to get around and easy walking. Visit to Maffco Brewery well worth it. Weather in November is a mixed bag.

Sale is a lovely Country Town, plenty to see and do.

Sale is a lovely Country Town, plenty to see and do. I went to the Annemeike Mein Display in the gallery and loved it had coffee with my friend. just fabulous. The Port of Sale is also a great place for walks checking out the boats.

Surprisingly lovely place to stay. Two Lakes beautiful. Swingbridge and Sale Common Wetlands walk magnificent and full of birdlife. Good food at hotels and at Shirley's cafe in the arts centre. interesting Gallery. Good base for day trips (eg to Yarram and Port Albert).

The setting was just beautiful, lovely to sit on the outdoor stools and enjoy the peace and quiet. Loved watching the birds and the spring blossoms. Breakfast was great, loved the coffee pods. As a solo traveller was a great way to have a country retreat, and yet have the back up of a lovely host who totally respected my privacy. Location is great, only 10 minutes into Sale for a yummy takeaway dinner and then a lovely morning at Port of Sale art centre, cafe and visitor centre. So glad I stayed at Wagtail Retreat!

The matador exceeded my expectations from start to finish. The customer service at reception was exceptional and the room I had booked was well decorated, clean and enormous! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Sale- great value for money, great location and great rooms!
