Small old town but enough places to chose from for meals - different for each day. Close to Strandja, Ravadinovo, etc - can roam around. Nice beaches around, if one is red flagged, you can just go 5-10-20 km away to find a yellow or green flagged one. (Kitens Atliman or Golden Fish near Santa Marina). Sozopol is an amazing city with a perfect mix of history, culture, and modern charm. Walking through the Old Town feels like stepping back in time, with its beautiful architecture and rich history, while still having plenty of restaurants, cafés, and entertainment options to enjoy. It’s also a great place for family travel—our child loved exploring the narrow streets and learning about the city’s past. At the same time, there are plenty of fun activities, beaches, and dining spots that make it enjoyable for both kids and adults. Great find!
Great find! The history, atmosphere, beaches, shops and restaurants were great. The local people are lovely too (all except a grumpy art gallery owner!) Make sure to walk down to the level below - we luckily found it by chance but the external fort walls along the edge of the town is a wonderful, vibrant line of beach side restaurants! Sozopol is a lovely place for young people who want to relax from the busy daily life, as well as for couples with children. There are lovely beaches within walking distance. The beaches offer areas with umbrellas/sunbeds, as well as designated free areas for individuals to set up their beach equipment. There is a food market offering fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as numerous restaurants serving fresh seafood from the nearby sea farms. Great town, with different parts, suitable for many kinds of peple, child friendly. Very relaxed atmosphere. Nice people everywhere. Great food. Great bars. Live music. The location is also perfect, as it's close to the heart of the Old Town and Sozopol Central Beach.
