Gaspe is a beautiful place for walking and whale watching.

Gaspe is a beautiful place for walking and whale watching. The trails are well marked, well maintained and easy to follow. The rangers are helpful with ideas of what to do in certain times if you are short of time. The beaches are stunning. We sat for ages on a gorgeous beach watching seals watching us. The water was warm (in September) and so clear. Also we noticed how quiet the skies were- no aeroplanes. Idyllic!

We visited the Mic'Mac Museum just outside of town. This was very interesting. Also Parc Forillon had exquisite views and was well worth visiting. In Gaspe, we ate at Brise Bise which had delicious food. The trip around the Peninsula is breathtakingly beautiful. Well worth it.

Gaspé was much more scenic than I thought it would be.

Gaspé was much more scenic than I thought it would be. There were many very large hills that were much steeper and dramatic than anticipated. The views were spectacular! In a very short trip we saw whales surfacing along the coast, several waterfalls cascading down rock cliffs along the highway, and countless picturesque villages and vistas. I would highly recommend driving along the Gaspé coast, but the interior drives are also very impressive. The drive from Quebec City to Gáspe is quite long (around 8 hours), so bear this in mind!

The Gaspe area is spectacular .

The Gaspe area is spectacular . Although it rained on our trip it didn't hinder our enjoyment . Most of the folks we met and all service staff were bilingual and this was so nice as we don't speak French . The restaurants are good ! Try the Cod it is delicious . Be prepared to walk up and down some hills if you go exploring . Gaspe is another of Canada's treasures

The hotel is quiet and the beds are comfortable. But for four stars, I was expecting much more. Everything is pretty old, especially the showers; you could see the calcium buildup or ruined door from water - bad design. The coffee machines in both rooms were not working. Not sure what's the purpose is of having a non-working coffee machine in the room. But overall, the stay was pleasant, so I would recommend

Auberge La Petite École de Forillon is a charming and affordable place close to Forillon National Park. Housed in a former school, it features clean rooms, a large shared kitchen, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Visitors enjoy the friendly bilingual staff, fully stocked kitchen, and tranquil setting. It’s an ideal spot for exploring the park and soaking in Gaspé’s natural beauty.

A large room close with in walking distance of downtown Gaspe. We loved the big deck and amenity room. We ate our dinners on the deck every night overlooking Gaspe. We appreciated the laundry facilities as well. The hotel had plenty of parking. We appreciated the staff being bilingual and conversing in English for our needs. Rooms had coffee/tea and small fridge.

Location was good, as it was just off the main highway circling the Gaspesie Penninsula. The old house was quite artistically decorated and the garden was enjoyable.
