I loved the pods - they're exactly like the photos. The space was clean and there were instructions to use all the appliances. It was a great space for a romantic getaway with a partner. I also loved that they had a bistro for breakfast and lunch right on the property and we were pleasantly surprised by the adventure activities on the property. We booked a buggy guide tour and it was so much fun! I also LOVED the bridge- we went at around sunset and it was so beautiful!

Imagine each town along the Petit Train du Nord had an auberge like this! Particularly Saint Jerome with it comfy but spirit killing hotels. No, these people know how to host. Spacious rooms, each with individual decor instead of cream standard hotel furniture - kudos for the guts to do that. We enjoyed the wonderful Mexico room. And after 28 years of international travel across the globe for work, I think I just had the best, most powerful shower. So relaxing! Also, an original way of presenting breakfast in the low season with a keen eye to reduce waste. Croissant could have been fresher but nice overall. Highly recommend this place.

My recent stay with Francois at La Macaza turned out to be a...

My recent stay with Francois at La Macaza turned out to be a real letdown. Even though I booked the apartment three months ahead, things took a nosedive just a day before we were supposed to arrive. Everything seemed okay until the property owner emailed to check our arrival time. When I said we'd be there by 6pm, Francois said that wouldn't work because check-in was only between 1pm and 2pm. I tried to work out another time, but he just shrugged me off and told me to sort it out with the booking site. Long story short, Francois didn't stick to the agreement, and we ended up losing all our money. It's really disappointing how La Macaza cares more about making money than keeping their word. They make it too easy to take advantage of people. Bottom line: My experience with La Macaza was a big disappointment, and I'd warn anyone thinking of staying there to reconsider and look for somewhere else that's more reliable.
