Orsières is a good starting point for a wonderful vacation in the surrounding Alps. At the train station a very comfortable hotel and an excellent local restaurant. We spent two days at Hotel union so she could recover and it had everything we needed. The pharmacy was very close, as was a comprehensive little supermarket and a few cafes where you could grab a nice pizza for lunch. The station was about a 5 minute walk too.
