Beautiful place close to downtown (about a 45 minute walk). We booked to stay the last two nights before leaving Costa Rica. Very friendly staff, had one excellent dinner at the restaurant. Nice room with everything you need. Free parking just across the street.

We stayed at Apart Hotel Villas del Río and really enjoyed it. The apartments are spacious, airy, and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of variety and fresh options. What really stood out was the staff — everyone was super friendly and always greeted us with a smile, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re staying in San José!

Very charming hotel, rich in culture and history, the lots of art on display throughout the building. Front desk staff were very helpful and bilingual. Our room was clean and cozy. The restaurant attached to the hotel was also exceptional. We would definitely stay here again!

Check in was efficient. I had a third floor inner-back room which provided quiet. Good access to the various bus terminals and a few steps from the pedestrian strip. (Adjacent blocks appear sketchy, but that's the nature of this downtown.) My breakfast omelet sandwich and coffee was good.
