Jablonec is a small town in North Bohemia some 100 kms north of Prague. It sits in a picturesque region and visitors can be sure of good opportunities for outdoor pursuits. In the region there are really interesting attractions and travel is helped by a very good bus service. As a town that was once the centre of glass bead and jewellery making, Jablonec has so much history. The architecture is beautiful with great examples of Jugendstil and Art Deco buildings. The Museum of Glass and Jewellery is well worth a visit. The town is friendly and the local restaurants are good. The reservoir offers a nice place to walk not too far from the city and the surrounding forests are wonderful for hiking. And an amazingly friendly staff, which is not that common in CZ! The price is unbelievable, you will rarely get this value for money in Europe.
