This little gem was in a perfect location, right in the heart of this beautiful city. Staff were super friendly and attentive. We slept so well thanks to the comfortable bed and superb air conditioning. The breakfast was the best I’ve ever had in a hotel - from the delicious home-made baked beans, to the wonderful selection of meats and cheeses, fresh breads, pastries, yogurts and fruit. The hotel bar was beautiful and well priced. We had an amazing stay - thank you!

Room was a bit small but cosy, beds comfortable. Electric towel heather in bathroom was great. Location is good, tram stop 2 minutes away, Aldi supermarket just in front of hotel. Easy parking. Very professional and friendly personell.

It was a very cozy and cute hotel. Very clean,they only serve breakfast and drinks which is good because you have enough eateries around. Most of the stuff were vey friendly and welcoming. It’s very close to the train which can take you to city centre. All together I enjoyed my stayed and I will definitely choose this hotel next time.

Commonly known as just Freiburg, Freiburg im Breisgau is equally popular under a different name: the Jewel of the Black Forest. Located at the foot of the Schlossberg hill in the Baden region, the city is best known for its 15th-century university and local vineyards.

    We were only there for about 24 hours.

    We were only there for about 24 hours. Unfortunately, it was a Sunday and most things were closed with the exception of restaurants and a few shops. However, Freiburg im Breisgau did not disappoint. It is such a cute town and very walkable! The architecture is amazing! I hope to come back for a longer length of time!

    Spent 3 nights in freiburg,although the weather wasn't the best,there is alot to do,loved the wine bar on the markplatz,the church was truly anazing,was, easy to get around,did a hike in schlossburg,which i highly tecommend

    The old town is gorgeous, really characterful.

    The old town is gorgeous, really characterful. We loved the market square - if you like cheesecake, Stefan's Cheesecakes are definitely a must-have. We particularly enjoyed visiting the church. If you can manage the stairs, the view from the top is amazing, and being able to see the bells close up is great. Walking up Schlossberg (or taking the funicular, though it only goes part-way up) is also a must-do, particularly to go up the Aussichtsturm Schlossberg: terrific views. You could easily spend two full days exploring this city at a relaxed pace. Plus there are great walks within a short driving distance.

    Lovely city with a nice buzz to it.

    Lovely city with a nice buzz to it. Good for a dedicated few days or as a base for Black Forest trips. No shortage of varying restaurants. We used the regular and reliable rail system to get around but I would recommend having your own transport if you are wanting to get off track in the Black Forest.

    The wooden edge of the beds are very uncomfortable, I kept hitting my legs when getting in and out of bed, perhaps the edges should be covered at least with a sheet. We managed to visit the old, medieval city centre of Freiburg, it is beautiful! The Munster Freiburg Cathedral dated back since 1200, is worth to visit.

    This was a great base for my holiday exploring Freiburg and the Black Forest. The hotel was cosy and rustic and the owner was very welcoming. I stayed in the single room which contained a sink and a kettle. There were 3 shared shower/toilet rooms that were always clean and available when I needed them. The tram stop is just outside the hotel and it is only a 10 minute journey into Freiburg - very convenient. Hotel is in a lovely, peaceful location.

    The hotel is a little old-fashioned but we liked the vibe of somewhat faded grandeur. The hotel manager who greeted us was very friendly and we managed to communicate well despite her lack of English and our lack of German. We had a large room which was great size-wise. We had a car so this hotel worked for us in terms of location and the very nearby tram whizzes you straight into central Freiburg in a few minutes.

    Location of the hotel is very central considered that the train station is just across. 7 mins walk to the town where you will find numerous restaurants. There is a DM, pharmacy and a grocery store just around the hotel. The room was very quiet, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The front staff was very polite and helpful. We needed help to book a taxi from freiburg to Colmar and they assisted with that.
