We had a wonderful time exploring Germany's largest town...
We had a wonderful time exploring Germany's largest town square, with its arcades, shops and other attractions. There were also open-air concerts taking place in the Kurhaus event location. It's also a great base to explore the southern Black Forest from. Freudenstadt will also be co-hosting the state garden show in 2025 (together with the neighbouring town of Baiersbronn) and so we plan to return!Guest review byKenGermany - 10.0
Freudenstadt was much nicer than I'd expected.

Freudenstadt is a good base for exploring the river valleys...
Freudenstadt is a good base for exploring the river valleys in northern Black Forest. Nowhere is too far, for example Baden Baden about 45 mins away. City feels like a safe place, the central square, said to be biggest in Germany, has a number of restaurants and a small brewery, Very pleasant place to end the day. There are all the usual supermarkets: REWE, Lidl, Aldi. Plenty of service stations. Huge parking under town square. The apartment itself is very well appointed with everything we could have wanted. It was spacious and ideal for a couple visiting Freudenstadt and the Black Forest. The area itself it great with endless networks of trails for walks of all lengths and level of challenge. I don't know if it's always available, but it was nice to receive a free public transportation card at the hotel. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices.
