Loved the room, and the location. Our room was just across from a small river and the sound of the stream was very nice. The room had a balcony overlooking the stream as well. Room was very comfortable and clean. The owners and staff were the nicest and friendliest people I have ever met on my many years of travel…they were wonderful and made us feel like family. Breakfast was included and was delicious with a great selection. Location was five minute walk to the old town center. Wonderful stay!

The beds were super comfy and the beddings was great (even with a cookie!)! It's very nicely furnished and tastefully decorated. Great towels and amenities, easy check-in procedure, very responsive in communications (even What's App) and well organized. Very friendly and everything was spotless! The hotel is closely located (+/- 10 min) near Monschau, a very touristic center, but the neighbourhood of the hotel itself is quiet. We slept at the roadside, but thanks to the thick 3 layer glass we didn't hear anything! There is a big parking lot next to the hotel. The beds are very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, had all necessary towels. The breakfast was copious and varied and more than enough for the two of us. The personel was very, very friendly and helpful! We cannot stress the importance of that enough and they exceeded our expectations. We were given the Schnabuleum restaurant in Monschau by the hotel owner as a tip. This restaurant was a real treat. Every dish we got was like a painting. We really can recommand this place as well!

Would like to say a bĺig thankyou to all the staff at the hotel, nothing too much trouble and everything done with a smile, a special thankyou to Sylvia at the bar for looking after me each night with refreshments and the food from the kitchen was divine. A first time stay that was made very comfortable. Breakfast has enough to keep all tastes happy and location you can't get any better. Parked motorbike in court yard garage which was a great bonus too. Pictures below are outside and the lovely bar downstairs. Thanks again All.👏👏

It is a beautiful historical city, great for visiting! The best points are: 1. the glass blowing workshop, where YOU can also blow your own vase! 2. the city itself, which is totally cute 3. the red house, a great museum about the rich textile background of the city 4. the mustard mill (next to the ACHAT hotel) 5. the Nazi school, such an important historical piece, close to Monschau, at the entrance of the Eifel park, a total must see!

Tiny beautiful town, cozy feeling, friendly people & good food, definitly recommend for dinner: •Am Haller: old style cozy place with good german food and friendly staff. Please note you can only pay with cash here. •Kafe Kaulard: perfect for a nice breakfast/brunch, located in the center with great views; also they have amazing cakes (didnt try but they looked amazing and lots of people came for the cake while we had brunch) You can easily walk through the whole town and some hiking paths close by. Only minus point would be that many places dont accept paying with card but cash only, if you need to go to a cashmachine, its 5km way all up hill.. For the rest super place to scape for a weekend

If you are going to the small town and christmas market, it can be visited in a full day. We arrived on a Sunday when the christmas market was active, but the very next day, everything was closed. There is only a few cafes and restaurants open so if you do not go for a walk/hike, there isn't much else to do in Dec during weekdays.

Monschau is a quaint medievel town which is lovely to explore. We went to the glass-blowing exhibit and even did our own glass-blowing - definately worth the visit. We also took the electric tourist train which is well worth the experience.

Monschau is a postcard perfect small town in a gully.

Monschau is a postcard perfect small town in a gully. There are some hilly roads in and out and about. The architecture is lovely, the presentation of the houses almost too shiny and pretty. A stream flows through alongside cobblestoned winding streets. Great for photos. Plenty of places to eat and drink. FULL of tourists.

Monschau is a hidden gem with lots of character. It is a very historic place with artistic connections too. It is easy to walk round but possibly not if you have mobility issues. Everything is very close and the place we ate was outstanding.

The staff was really nice! The room and bathroom were tidy and had everything a smaller hotel room should have! It's an older cottage so you can expect some creaking noises, but it's really worth the price! Walking to Monschau can be challenging for lesser fit people though! Even though we didn't mind it, the location was cool!

Great location in the historic old town of Monschau. Also perfect for discovering the surrounding Eifel area if you're into hiking or cycling. The apartment has full amenities. Parking garage is a 5 minutes walk away on the edge of town, and is not too expensive (7€ a day in December 2024).

Breakfast was good. The hotel looks great, and I like the way it harks back to the past. The location is on a quieter street very near the town centre, which is excellent. The room (third floor) was adequately furnished, but we felt the ventilation could have been better. Beds were good.
