Outstanding hosts, wonderful food. Having the pool and hot tub was an added bonus. The coconut rimmed Pina Colada is the star. Best guacamole and masa fried plantains. Great breakfast with wonderful coffee and freshly made juice. The bed was firm but very comfortable. Lovely pillows for sleeping. The wifi was very good. Lots of seating and even a hammock. Close to the square and to the Yellow House nature trails. Music played nightly in the pool/bar area until around 10-11 at night, and even though we went to bed early, the music was happy and didn't stop us from falling right to sleep. Highly recommend

Very new, well designed, attractive and very clean. Great location close to town. Lots of birds to watch from the dining area. Margarita was a great hostess and very helpful when planning our day trips. Breakfast and other meals were very good.

everything!.....it is a great location, you are 1km to the town but you are in the middle of a forest!... Tucanes and colibries together with the nice mountain views make you feel like you are within the cloud forest. Breakfast good and served with care. Love the cacao tea! huge room for a great price In summary if you want to feel within the forest but not so far from the town and still pay an affordable price, the temple II should be your choice :).

Our host Paula was warm funny and very welcoming ! She assisted with excellent access to local tours and made our stay one of our best in 3 months of travel in South America ✨🙏🏿✨ But truly what blew our minds was the spectacular property … quiet and tranquil. I loved the location of this property. it was very serene and peaceful. I often struggle to find a comfortable bed, but we all slept wonderfully. The beds and the bedding were very comfortable. The hummingbirds at breakfast were delightful.

    Hiking in the cloud forest was a special experience. The Cascadas de Nambillo, the Butterly Garden , the birding tour with Marcelo Arias - were all great opportunity to understand local flora and fauna and having a lot of fun.

    Mindo is a great little town, and can arrange lots of activities directly in Mindo. I wish we'd have had more time to explore the town, but we were here just for a birdwatching tour -- which was simply amazing!

    We very much enjoyed our two days in Mindo.

    We very much enjoyed our two days in Mindo. Another day, would have been enjoyable, but we were able to hike through the cloud forest to visit six of the seven waterfalls and enjoyed our time at the butterfly refuge and hummingbird garden on our first day. On our second day, we greatly enjoyed our birding tour and on our way back to Quito had time to stop by Al Mitad del Mundo.

    Mindo is in a beautiful area with great opportunities for hiking. We enjoyed the Butterfly farm and the Maya Chocolate demonstration, and had a great meal at a tiny family run restaurant called Persian House.

    I chose to head to Mindo instead of staying in the city of...

    I chose to head to Mindo instead of staying in the city of Quito as I wanted a place to relax and recoup from my long haul flight and get ready for my Galapagos Experience. It was everything I wanted, I felt safe and had options for dining without having to get taxi’s around. The bird life was amazing and I loved the cloud forest environment.

    Mindo has a lot of wonderful nature options. Feeding hummingbirds, the BEST butterfly gardens we have ever visited and we have been to many & really good bird watching - we used Sandra & Romelly at Bird Paradaisio (sp) & had alot of fun & Romelly drove us back safely to Quito but took us on an extra bird sighting trip on the way that was super - wonderful too! The trails to the waterfalls was a lot of fun & the falls are worth the trek although these out of shape older folks didn't make it to them all. The chocolate tour at Yumbos led by Amir was wonderful! We enjoyed both the tarabita & telerifico rides although the last was a bit scary, terrific views! Prices for everything was very reasonable, food may be a bit higher than rest of Ecuador but not too bad. Limited options though as most menus looked almost the same. One place we would definitely come back to. Only the food options were a little lacking. Everything else was fun & it was nice to be out of big cities.

    Very nice location and beautiful hotel. Shower was big and had hot water. Bed was very comfy and the room was very big. The common space/restaurant was very nice because you looked out at the trees and all the birds. The food was also very nice here

    The hotel has a lovely garden where you can see birds, orchids and we saw an agouti! The rooms are clean, the shower has hot water and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I have stayed here 3 times now and I will stay here again.

    My favourite place to stay in Ecuador. Rodney was so accomodating that I extended my stay to five nights. Can do washing, get to have Breaky with the hummingbirds and the wooden rooms are so cosy.
