Stepping into the historic district of Quito is like walking into a living, breathing work of art. The narrow streets are alive with energy, and the sidewalks are a bustling stage for a constant parade of people. Every corner reveals breathtaking architecture and a symphony of sights and sounds, from the buzzing taxis to the high-quality live music🎶 Small cafeterias offer incredible meals, and the Desayuno Completo - Complete Breakfast is a true feast. It's easy to find fresh fruits, vegetables, and rich Ecuadorian chocolate. Around every corner, you'll find unique arts and crafts, and if you're lucky, a random pop-up parade will add to the magic. "Vibrant" doesn't even begin to cover it—Quito's historic district is a sensory explosion that you have to experience to believe.

Take time to acclimate due to the elevation. There is a lot of up hill walking in the historic district. You can take the bus as there is good public transport. Also, Quito town is higher than the airport. Airport is very modern and well laid out.

Definitely take a walking tour of the old city, take the Teleferico (gondola) up to the mountain overlooking the city, and try out the chocolate and yummy local food. Make sure to plan for traffic when getting around, though!

The buildings and the city is beautiful.

The buildings and the city is beautiful. Go to La Compañia, San Francisco Church and the Museum, Virgen del Panecillo, Telesferiqo and visit Guayasamin Museum. The food is good but not surprising. The conditions in the downtown are difficult. Too much poverty and it is dirty. To be honest, a day and a half is more than enough. And you have to be careful about safety and hygiene issues.

From the very stylish entrance till the rooftop terrace and lounge area it is a very comfortable, sympathic little hotel near to Carolina Park. Breakfast was wonderful with a lot of fresh fruit, eggs, fruit juices, granola and more. The rooms very clean, modern, beautiful photgraphs of the most remarkable landscape highlights of Ecuador. A good choice of art objects, sculptures, wooden masks, pictures make a difference!!

I loved the Ecuadorean theme. The hotel had a lovely family feel and the staff were always very helpful in answering any of our questions. Felipe had even offered to pick up some medicine from the pharmacy when my friend was suffering from altitude sickness. I would also recommend dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, as the drunken chicken was my nicest meal during my time in Ecuador.

Very beautiful small hotel, managed by an Ecuadorian family. They were always very helpful and friendly. The place itself is very beautiful and recently renovated. Excellent location only a 5-10 minutes walk to the main square in the historical center of Quito.
