FAQs about hotels in Madrid

The Spanish Soul of Art and Entertainment

Modern Madrid is one of the greenest cities in Europe and the most popular destination in Spain. Whether you want to experience its legendary nightlife or a flamenco show, this is the place to be.

The renowned Museo del Prado holds one of the world’s finest art collections with iconic paintings by El Greco, Velázquez and Goya. For more modern touch, the Museo Reina Sofia houses Picasso’s and Dali’s most respected works.

Start your evening at Puerta del Sol, one of the city’s busiest spots. Make some room in your stomach for great tapas and sangria in La Latina district, south of the city’s most famous plaza, Plaza Mayor.

Real Madrid plays at Santiago Bernabeu and Atlético Madrid competes at Vicente Calderón Stadium, two opportunities that no sports fan will want to miss. The popular Salamanca district is a great place to look for boutique gifts and unique shops.

Thanks to great public transportation system, getting to the city centre from Madrid Barajas International Airport is very easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, budget hostels or comfy apartments, Booking.com has a perfect place for your Madrid holiday.

    Madrid has striking architecture.

Madrid has striking architecture. Just take walks to Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace of Madrid and even in Gran Via. A visit to the Prado Museum mandatory. Eat at least once at the Mercado de San Miguel. Take a bicycle tour to get a good look of the city and simply eat and drink and watch the world go by.

The whole area is just a vibrant city. Food choices were excellent. City is very clean and well maintained. Must see the palace! Transportation was easy and prefer a taxi (not much more than Uber) who are very adapt at getting you where you need to go.

Madrid is a spectacular city especially architecturally. With great places to visit. Its a lively young vibrant city and we loved the vibe. The underground works well and the typical tourist spots were excellent and organised with few hitches.

Madrid seems more busy than Barcelona, there are lots of tourists and things seems spread out a bit more comparing to Barcelona. We would like to extend our stay to 3 days to explore a bit more in Madrid, 2 days and a night is too short for Madrid.

Sight seeing tour and the visit to the Real Madrid Stadium were the highlights of this trip. We eat at cafes and pubs and restaurants but not many caters for vegan diets. Taxis are the main means of transport for tourist but not the cheapest. Tourist should be informed about other modes of transport ie metro and bus .

Despite the number of tourist, a feature of most European destinations nowadays, Madrid is a stunning mixture of grand buildings and beautiful backstreets peppered with cafes, bars, restaurants, interesting little shops, boutiques and the usual array of retail. It is a fascinating city to walk around every corner opening up to a new vista of grand builds, quaint alley ways, magnificent parks and plazas. The city seems to be alive 24/7 and is wonderfully vibrant especially from dinner time - after 8pm.

ARTIEM Madrid was perfect for our weekend break. the hotel was modern, clean and it catered to all our needs. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, and the free drinks and lunch fridge was a great bonus. Our room was spacious, well-kept and comfortable. The hotel is situated half way between the airport and the city centre, but easily accessible by bus and metro. It was incredible value for money. We would stay here again if we were to return to Madrid.

The location was excellent, offering quick access to the metro compared to other hotels near the airport. Some alternatives required taking a bus, making the journey to the city centre longer. Despite the minor inconveniences, I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I visit Madrid in the future.

Hotel booked initially as part of a business trip but extended for a long weekend in Madrid with my partner. Excellent links to the city centre and very reasonably priced. Clean and comfortable would happily stay again either for business, or with my partner.
