A hidden gem, lots of things to do, each village has a pool to visit. There is a suspension bridge near the Hundidero dam, a freezing cave pool Cueva del Gato, turquoise lake and church tower at Zahara, cave paintings at Cueva de la pileta. Whilst a little off route, Montejaque is a 15 min trip from Ronda and well worth a visit. The scenery is spectacular, the village authentique and the residents are helpful and friendly. There are BBQ facilities in the common area and in he private garden of the house (the coal was availble which was great!). The pool is also great. Parking is close and with a small car you can drop off the bags within 50 metres. We enjoyed the serenity and also the comfort of the place Excellent bed, great kitchen and the possibility to cook a light meal. The neighbours are lovely and it was just a short walk to the plaza to have a drink and tapas. It’s a small town but close to some beautiful hiking and the city of Ronda. We visited in the winter but plenty of heaters were provided and there is a service available to order firewood. The beds were very warm so we stayed quite comfortable. My only advice is to bring a lot of food with you as there are very few groceries and restaurants in the village.
