Such a great little city that feels very safe and enjoyable for travellers. We loved the local feel of Motril, unlike other places along the coast that we visited. The locals were friendly and there was a great selection of restaurants and bars as well as a nice walk to the beach with good access for pedestrians. I wouldn’t recommend bringing a car as the streets are little but a scooter or moped would be ideal. You must try Pizzeria Vespa and Zarcillo Restaurant was such a special place to go for dinner too. It is a very traditional , working town which we like . Tapas bars every where and a tapas run is definitely something to do , you can’t go wrong . Free tapas with every drink( except coffee) . The history of the sugar cane is interesting and there are patches of old sugar cane everywhere . Beautiful gardens , including a cactus garden , right in the centre of Malaga, next to the church on the hill . The church is beautiful if it is open , sorry can’t help on opening times but I know Sunday mass is at 10 am . Nearby Salobrena is worth a visit , it has a moorish castle and a regular bus service . Playa Poniente and Playa Granada in Motril are a tranquil pretty beaches with good amenities. It's a little off the beaten track which made it nice b/c it wasn't mobbed with tourists. Hotel and room exactly as described online. Very friendly and helpful front desk and staff. We really liked the local restaurants; Katena, Juan Garcia for the freshest seafood and Morelli for pizza and pasta. Some nice places in the town of Motril also where we went for lunch. Can walk or bus into town (about 3-4 km) We traveled to Granada for day trip via bus from the Motril bus station very easy. We booked for six days but ended up staying 5 days. Hotel honored our request to check out early when we gave them 48-hour notice which we really appreciated.Guest review byJohnUnited States - 6.0
Motril is not a tourist destination.
Motril is not a tourist destination. The town has only two hotels. Elba one of them. If you just passing Motril and you need to spend 1-2 nights- this hotel is right for you. Breakfast was great, but dinner- sorry 😣.Guest review byJolantaIreland - 8.0

The hotel is located on the beach strip quite a distance from the actual town of Motril. In December the area was totally deserted except for the hotel bar/restaurant. Good hotel, nice room, renovated bathroom, terrace, Satélite TV, AC/heating, very dog friendly (for €10 more), included breakfast was coffee, toast, fresh orange juice.Guest review byColette Z.Slovakia

The pool was lovely, very private with plenty of sun bathing areas around it A 10 mins walk to the beaches which are huge with great chiringuito's along the promenade.
