    A great place as a base for a Tenerife tour if you want to stay in one place. If your visit extends for more than 4 days it might be more interesting to move closer to your sightseeing points (example: 3 nights in Santa Cruz, 3 in Puerto de la Cruz, 3 in Playa del Duque - that's what I would have done if I knew how much time I'd spend driving).

    Puerto de la Cruz is the nicest city on the Island.

    Puerto de la Cruz is the nicest city on the Island. It has that wonderfully built Lago Martináez, where you could swim, whatever high waves were on the ocean. The seaside promenade is beautiful, full of stores and restaurants. It is easy to get around. Also very good place for shopping is the Martiánez Shopping Centre, which is very close to the hotel and has good quality clothes and food in Mercadona.

    Temperature was just right for me in July not too hot with a cool breeze. Lots to see and do great places to eat, I recommend Brunelli's Steakhouse for the most magnificent views and great food. Also a small Italian Cucci for pasta and pork dishes were excellent. Not many English mostly Spanish out enjoying themselves. A must go to bar is Hawa Rooftop Bar, on the promenade modern hotel the Silken Saaj Maar. Free to go to for non residents after 18:00 just press the buzzer in the vestibule by the glass doors and ask to go to the bar get in the lift and floor 6. I was advised to rent a car and it was definitely the correct decision transfers are expensive and it's just over an hour drive from the airport on great roads.

    I liked the shopping centre, the quirky tourist shops and the restaurants were great. A walk along the front was lovely and took us to the fishing beach and onto a large play area for kids. This had a few restaurants around also. Its a great area to stay as a stop-off for a trip to Loro Parque

    If you are looking for a peaceful, civilised resort, then this is the place. The walk from Playa Martinez to Playa Castillo is lovely. There are enough attractions to occupy your time and if you want to go further afield , then good frequent public transport is available. A visit to the Botanic Gardens and La Orotava are musts.

    We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel!

    We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The location is fantastic - very convenient, with breathtaking view of the ocean. The hotel itself offers great facilities, including a gym, which is super important for us. The grounds are beautiful, the breakfasts were excellent. We’d definitely love to come back! If there’s anything that could be improved, we’d suggest updating the room interiors a bit. And fixing the Wi-Fi! Spanish sim-cards doesn't work well inside.

    The hotel has been newly refurbished and the interiors look nice and new. The room and the bathroom were spacious and the room also had a useful balcony; the breakfast is presented in a large buffet with a lot of options, the quality of food and drinks is average. I really appreciated the location of the hotel, close to Puerto de la Cruz's centre and facilities. I would definitely recommend the property, the swimming pool upstairs is amazing.

    Room ok but not that good for 4 star, Couldn't hook up our own tv box seemed like an internrt block? Breakfast was very good, but dinner was buffet and ok for money but wouldn't eat there again needs a fine dinner restaurant where freshly cooked food. Not in the best location would prefer to be closer to the centre. But still happy with our decision to book.

    All employees of the hotel are very friendly, especially at the reception where you can get an answer to any question. The food is delicious, drinks are paid but the prices are very reasonable. I hope to visit Tenerife and Hotel Masaru again.
