You must visit la carmencita del puerto restaurant in matagorda, wonderful place, delicious food unlike anything else on the island. The oasis cocktail and tapas bar on the seafront in Matagorda is also delightful. Tasty high quality tapas and amazing cocktails. Just a 5 minute taxi ride from the main strip. The strip is a bit like Southend on steroids for bars and restaurants. Service has always been good in any place we have been in El Kiosk is a must for cheap drinks and people watching, seats are limited though, there are plenty of other little bars too, so don't just frequent the one Overall feels very safe and generally very clean. The experience changes from one end of the "strip" to the other.
