Ronda is a compact walkable Spanish hill town.

Ronda is a compact walkable Spanish hill town. The gorge and bridge are the focal point. The town itself is nice and has some good food opportunities. You must see a Guitar performance e while in Ronda. I recommend the Guitar House with Paco Seco performing.

Amazing things to walk to and view.

Amazing things to walk to and view. Very very busy for first of October. Was easy to park our car close for €22. We came late afternoon. Stayed two pms. Left early next morning. Two full days was good though one pm ( one full day to see the sites )would have been ok with an afternoon check in, a day to explore and then late morning departure. I am not fond of a lot of sightseeing and crowds.

I was in Ronda for two full days.

I was in Ronda for two full days. That was enough for the trip I was on, but I would like to go back at some point. The city is impressive, built on cliff edges high above a fertile valley, with the Puente Nuevo (New Bridge) being one of the main draws. You can't miss the bridge. It dominates the city, spanning the gorge across which you walk from the new to the old parts. But there is more to it than just a big bridge. The other, cultural parts of Ronda are interesting in their own right. Ronda is quite compact and I was able to wander and see a lot of the town in the time I was there. The old town is pleasant to walk, with many places to stop and have a rest, a drink, something to eat. There are a lot of green areas to just sit in the shade and watch the world go by. Specific places I visited were. The Bull Ring - whatever your views of bullfighting, this is an interesting museum and well worth visiting. Puente Nuevo - has to be done and you can't avoid it, really. Very impressive Roman architecture. You'll get some good photos. Puente Viejo (Old Bridge) - impressive in its own way, with good views of the gorge, some parts of the city and nearby countryside. Banos Arabes - Arabic bath house (archaeological site). Very interesting (and free before 10am). Palacio de Mondragon - museum of Ronda's history. Very interesting, but lots of information to try and take in. Became a bit overwhelming after a while and I found myself zoning out a bit. Museo Lara - fascinating collection of items collected from around the world by one 'adventurer'. There was a strange exhibition about witchcraft and a very disturbing one about the Spanish Inquisition. But this is a little gem - don't miss it! Overall, Ronda is a great place to visit and I would happily go back.

The iconic bridge is very impressive and there are some lovely streets and buildings to admire in the old town. But for the most part, the rest of Ronda is pretty ugly and dirty and spoiled by over tourism. But on the flip side there is plenty of accommodation in and around Ronda so it's a good base for exploring the nicer villages (such as Grazalema which is truly authentic and not at all spoiled by over tourism) nearby.

    An unexpected delight.

An unexpected delight. Shops, culture, and views all need to go on your bucket list. Really easy to get around the old part of the city. The bull ring was worth the visit from a cultural perspective (not for a bull fight). Great wine and food. People really friendly.

What a fabulous place Ronda is, absolutely fabulous views...

What a fabulous place Ronda is, absolutely fabulous views that never cease to take your breath away. It is very busy with tourists, as you would expect, and pretty impossible to get around if you have any mobility issues. We had some fabulous food, and some not so fabulous, but that didn't spoil our time in Ronda, and the good made up for the bad! We booked a free walking tour but this was cancelled due to lack of other people signing up, but we had a guide book and a map so did our own. There is a Tourist information office near to the Bull Ring which I'm sure would have information on tours as there were lots going on around us. We stayed for 3 nights in an Apartment very close to Socorro Square which was an ideal location for exploring. A visit to Ronda is highly recommended.

Spacious flat in an absolutely perfect location, right in a historical centre, 3 min walk from the Puento Nuevo. Trip in late November, as typically in Spain there's no central heating, but AC did its job well. Well equipped kitchen, nice ambient light, beautiful balcony windows overlooking a charming alley. In a super close vicinity restaurants, wine bars and shops. Great place for short or even longer stay.

The home is in a lovely neighborhood and the host Stef warmly greeted us upon arrival. We felt right at home and he gave us lots of recommendations on what to see and do in the area. The house is very well kept, clean, and comfortable, 10/10. It was our favourite accommodation in Spain. We were only there for a night because of a short trip but would definitely have stayed longer! Thank you Stef.
