Beautiful location, conveniently situated for an overnight stopover driving from Northern Spain to the south of Spain. Very peaceful, surrounded by vineyards, the hotel is an elegant building with a pleasant courtyard. Lovely for a drink before dinner. Food was very good, reasonably priced wine (from the vineyard) and great staff, who coped remarkably well with our very poor Spanish. Good parking. Our room was huge, very clean, with an excellent bathroom. We overlooked the outdoor swimming pool with lovely views across the vineyards.

I’ve stayed here several times. Tarancón has little of interest (that I’ve found so far - I would gladly change this view if someone has any helpful information to share). But the Ansares is a lovely hotel but not fitting to the area (how does it survive apart from people like us who pass through on our way south to our homes?) - the staff are helpful, it has secure parking (and loads of free parking outside) and the inner courtyard is lovely. The shower is - well, powerful, which I like.
