Lovely, small seaside town. Lots of restaurant choice - our favourite was Le Clos Lupin, typical French, family run restaurant. Great cooking - we also rated Les Bel Amis amongst others. The cliffs of Étretat are spectacular and definitely worth a visit, but note that lots of other people think that too! So there are crowds of people, tourists from all over the world in this small seaside town. Fantastic vue and beach with the cliffs. Garden amazing on the hills. But you only need a day for that. But too much people and too many tourists, Took away the charm. We spent one night in Etretat.
We spent one night in Etretat. We walked along the beach as well as climbed up the stairs on the cliff areas. We liked the views of chalked cliffs and English channel from above. The beach and its views are great.
The beach and its views are great. The place in itself is very touristic and not always as friendly for tourists as it should be. Car got towed away from a car park where I paid with 8 others since we missed or misunderstood the very small sign that there was a market the next day. The host is wonderful and very friendly, she told us about all the best places to visit in Etretat. Also suggested really good restaurants The property itself is very cozy and stylish, has a lot of natural light. There’s a quiet terrace in front of the villa where you can enjoy a morning coffee and listen to birds singing. We're so glad they did(!) because this flat occupies a superb location, directly overlooking the bay and cliffs at Etretat. Once the day-trippers depart in the late afternoon, the place falls quiet, when you get to enjoy the bay at the best times for light in both morning and evening.
