Ferney-Voltaire's value lies mainly in the fact that it is linked to expensive Geneva: busses go between the two and you can walk across the border. However, the little town also offers excellent bakeries, supermarkets, green spaces and parking. Importantly, there is also easy and regular transport to Geneva airport, though make sure you know how to get to the Swiss side or the French side for departing flights. Currently the area feels like a building site (June 2023). It’s is very dusty at times and the pavement on the walk to the hotel was full of rubble, which wasn’t easy to navigate through with a suitcase on wheels. The staff were all so helpful and friendly, and the room was comfortable and clean. My husband and I stayed for two weeks and appreciated the shared kitchen where we could prepare meals, as well as the kitchenette in the room itself. The hotel has a great location close to Ferney town center, close to Geneva (less than 10 minute walk to 60, 61, 66 bus lines) and the airport.
