The food (bfst and dinner) and accommodations were great- highly recommend eating as many dinners as possible in-house, which you must arrange in advance. Jan is a skilled chef, and is pleasant to chat with. We were looking for a quiet village in a quaint and historic setting, which this is, and additionally, it's right on a lovely river. Plenty of nice walking and biking on flat terrain. Church bells at 8 AM, which delightfully prevented us from sleeping through our vacation. Decor is cozy antiques, with good lighting and many options for sitting. Good bathroom facilities and nice shower with good water pressure (filtered, even for showers, since lots of chalk in the local water). Jan has many good recommendations for touristing. We wish we'd had more than 4 days there. Jan is fluent in English, French, German, and Dutch- and perhaps other languages, as well- which makes communications easy. His well behaved dog Lupette was a delight. Area is quiet- no noise from roads or pedestrians. Easy drive to the tourist sights we visited. Good Wifi.

The host is super sweet and friendly, even tho we had a language barrier she tried to explain as good and friendly as possible. The view is absolutely stunning!! Area is very quiet. The appartment had everything you want and need, kitchen well equipped and a bbq. If you’re with kids: stuff for in the pool is there as well.
