When we arrived we were made feel very welcome. The receptionist was so helpful, friendly and good humoured as was the porter. He parked our car and brought our luggage up to the room. They set a high standard for our visit and we weren’t let down. The spa was very relaxing after a long day walking. Breakfast was good as expected. The bar is very cosy with a good atmosphere, particularly when watching France play rugby and win in the world cup.

Hotellerie Saint Yves is located in Chartres, 50 metres from the famous cathedral. The 17th-century building was a former monastery. It offers en suite accommodation with free Wi-Fi access.

The location could not be better, 3 min walk to Palace & Gardens (the main reason for our visit). Fabulous shops and restaurants nearby. We will return.
