Montignac is a pretty small town with a good range of resto’s and bars, as well as a small supermarket. It’s very attractive with some preserved buildings from the late medieval period and a wide range from the 17th to 19th century. There’s a canoe hire place in the town too. The staff were amazing and the hotel is gorgeous. We had the best sleep of anywhere in Europe in the most comfortable bed. The restaurant was closed the night we stayed but the staff booked us for dinner at the sister property down the street. It was also a stunning building and the food was fabulous.
