The monuments of Paris are just unique and takes some effort to get around them. As an 80 year old still did it no problem an investment in a a great pair of walking boots is a must as the cobblestone walking can be tiring at the end of the day. We used the supermarkets for most of our food as we were going on a road trip to Normandy so felt we would experience the French food at a more reasonable price. Paris was lovely, the Metro was very clean and fairly easy to use. Prices are pretty much the same as in London. If you are buying anything over £100, such as clothes or shoes, don't forget to reclaim the tax on your departure. Everywhere we looked the views were stunning. Just a beautiful city with so much to offer! We travelled in Autumn which was not too cold - but still very crowded in parts. Lovely 6 nights in Paris. So much to see and do. Lots of spectacular architecture and sights. Friendly people and delicious pastries! You could stay two weeks and have lots to do. Metro system is super easy to navigate and very convenient! Loved Montmarte, Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame areas. Day trip to Rouen was amazing. In the ideal, one would take a complete stranger to the city's subway system and, then, ask that person to determine how to get to any given subway station using the existing signage. That is to say, I often found said signage to be awkward and inconsistent and, thus, confusing. While I know it is not necessarily easy to make such information more clear, I believe it could be better presented / more easily understood, if the routing signage at each subway station were presented in a consistent format, with each station displaying on a suitably sized panel board, the names of the stations an given subway train would pass through as it progressed along its assigned route. As matters now stand, that consistency is lacking at many stations and, hence, the existing signage is often found wanting and passengers easily become confused.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
