Absolutely the best hosts we have come across. Very clean and good value for money. Lovely thick towels and facecloths. They cooked us a really lovely meal as most places were closed in Ruffec.

The hosts were very welcoming and hospitable and we spent a lovely hour with them and some of their friends in their beautiful seating area in the garden. They have restored the property both inside and out to the highest standard whilst retaining its character . The decor was absolutely beautiful with great attention to detail. The room had everything you could possibly need and more besides. Breakfast was lovely and was served in their beautiful big kitchen. We simply couldn't fault this wee gem of a place in any way.

Suzi and Jon (and Joop the dog!) are natural hosts and gave us a very warm welcome. We stayed in the 2-bedroom cottage, which was very spacious and well-equipped, making for a comfortable stay. The fire had been lit ahead of our arrival so we were cosy and warm. Suzi had offered us the option of dinner, which we had in the main house and saved us the bother of going out again after a long journey. It was a delicious homemade three course meal made with the freshest local ingredients (i.e. eggs from Suzi and Jon’s own chickens and venison from a neighbouring field) and was very welcome. We were travelling with our dog and Joop was a wonderful companion for him to run around the large, enclosed garden. There was also a lovely walk down to the river very close by. The arrangement of the property was perfect for our needs and Suzi and Jon made us feel genuinely welcome. We would definitely choose Les Granges de la Leigne again - we really enjoyed it.

Yvette is a joy! What a lovely helpful person she is. Nothing was too much trouble. We had hire car problems and Yvette helped us sort them out. When we were not sure if we could resolve the issues, Yvette offered to drive us to the airport! Breakfast was very good; more than enough food. The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean and pleasant. When we return to the area we will definitely be staying with Yvette (If she'll have us).

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The house is situated in the countryside with a lot of hiking and walking paths around. Easy to walk my dog. The room I stayed in was beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, and equipped with all the necessary amenities. The bed was very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail in the room’s design, which combined modern comforts with a cozy, homely feel. I highly recommend "La Ruche" to anyone looking for a charming and relaxing place to stay.
