What a great find at very short notice! Our room was extremely comfortable and had the best shower. I think it was my best night's sleep in many weeks of travelling. We were provided information on where we could get a meal in the next village and they even booked a table for us. We enjoyed a drink at the bar, chatting with other patrons, before setting out to get dinner. We were served a delicious breakfast in the morning before departure. The locals were all so friendly and helpful. We will definitely return to this village, and this pub, on our next trip to UK.

Very nicely presented apartment iin a beautiful quiet location but within close reach of Eyemouth and Berwick on Tweed.. In addition to tea and coffee, there was a welcome bottle of milk and a range of cereals, sauces and biscuits. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly. The Allanton Inn rightly prides itself on the wide variety of local produce it uses in its cuisine. Not only is the food varied and delicious, but they also make a point of promoting the many farms and businesses which supply their ingredients, which is admirable. Add to this a comfortable, well-appointed room and a beer garden with glorious views over the Borders countryside, and you have a top-quality stay. Highly recommended.

The cottage blew us away when we entered, with its well equipped large country kitchen and living rooms, 2 great bedrooms and beautiful bathroom. The hosts left Prosecco in the fridge and eggs, croissants and jams, we wanted for nothing. Location was tremendous, with only a short walk to the Allanton Inn, a superb pub that we went to twice. Easy on-site parking.

We loved everything about The Allanton Inn. The room was lovely, absolutely immaculate and everything was provided including good quality products in the bathroom. Very comfortable bed. The breakfast and dinner were exceptional. The food was well prepared and cooked using mainly local ingredients.

Purves cottage is perfect in every way. Stylish character, excellent facilities, comfortable light airy and warm. Close to so many interesting places on the Borders and we particularly enjoyed meals and drinks at the Allanton Inn.
