We had a great time staying here! All the facilities were excellent—tidy, clean, and well-maintained. The restaurant downstairs was especially impressive: the food was absolutely delicious, with a diverse menu and reasonable prices. I believe most people visit this area to hike the Snowdonia mountains, and I’d highly recommend staying here and taking a bus to the trailhead, the bus station just in front of the hotel. 🤗

Very nicely decorated and well heated, clean, reception staff Dillon & Nick exceptionally welcoming ( learnt a bit of Welsh and got recommendations where to eat etc). Other guests respectful of personal space whilst being friwndly, tricky as the toilets, bathrooms, kitchen, dining area and drawing room- are all shared. Very refreshing experience for someone like me whi is used to private space. The rooms have bunk beds , built in, from wood , with pleasantly designed curtains, so one can block off light and get privacy in the room share , even from one's iwn family

This area of North Wales is absolutely beautiful.

This area of North Wales is absolutely beautiful. Lots of outdoor activities to do, places to eat and things to see. The only frustration we had was the prevalence of 20mph speed limits in every village and town.

Loved Betws-y-coed! Such a pretty place.

Loved Betws-y-coed! Such a pretty place. Quite small but lots of independent, quality shops. Nice places to eat and drink throughout the day and the evening and it felt very safe to walk around after dark. Road network is good, we had no problems finding parking spaces (our accommodation had no on-site parking), some was free on street parking but when we had to resort to designated car parks, they weren’t extortionate which was a nice surprise. Would quite happy return there again

The Town has a good many shops selling outdoor clothing, a number of cafes and hotel/restaurants. A small bakers but not a decent handy supermarket if you are self catering. Take your time exploring the town but don't expect too much. Good service and good food at the nearby Swallow Falls Inn. The Swallow Falls themselves are disappointing

Pretty Village focused around a railway station within a...

Pretty Village focused around a railway station within a steep sided valley. Several camping / outdoor shops but don't expect bargains as the prices are similar or even slightly higher than elsewhere due to the "captive audience" of people in the area to enjoy the outdoors. Many eating out options, most of which are also hotels and offer broadly similar menus of "pub grub" / "grill" type food. Also a very popular Indian restaurant and a couple of Pizza places, and one Tapas. The Chinese was closed when we visited. If you prefer to self cater there is a Spar and a Londis with a decent bakery within the Spar. We visited at the end of the school holiday season and we thought all the food places were surprisingly quiet except the Pizza place in the station, the curry house and the Royal Oak hotel. There also didn't seem to be any sign of "nightlife" to speak of, even on Friday night (maybe people are too tired after outdoor activities?). Some establishments only opened Friday and Saturday nights. Its a good base for the area being at the junction of two main road routes. You can also walk straight out of the village with several way marked routes of varying difficulty, or just doing your own map reading. You can easily spend a day browsing the shops and cafes and taking in the pretty Pont-y-Pair and river rapids. However by day two, you will probably be ready to explore further.

Lovely scenery and breath taking water falls.

Lovely scenery and breath taking water falls. Also such quaint little shops with enough small pubs for a bite to eat. Also close to Zipworld where you can fly through the clouds at high speed or go zip through the forest at speed.

Betws y Coed is a pretty little place on the river which seems to attract many visitors during the day but they seem to disappear in the evenings so there’s very little atmosphere at night which is a shame.

Great value hotel in heart of village so I have stayed here several times. I had a discount deal and an upgrade to a better room when I arrived. Pleasant single room with comfortable bed, clean shower room, kettle, coffee etc. Good wifi. Nice bar and lounge area with decent but limited evening meals on offer and one good real ale. Very good breakfast. Secure car parking in hotel courtyard

Really friendly staff, really comfy and super dog friendly (loved the additional blanket and little treat for our dog!) Hotel was spotless throughout (despite being dog friendly) and is in a stunning setting. Breakfast was lovely too. Also close to lovely walks, villages and attractions. Really happy with our stay.
