Everything. We were travelling around Northern Europe and Uk for a few weeks. The George hotel was the last port of call before returning to Spain via Portsmouth. We really regretted not being able to stay for more than one night. The hotel was beautiful, warm, clean and friendly. The bed was so comfy and inviting. The bedroom very spacious. Shower was hot and powerful. Some lovely touches too. A little duck sitting in the shower base 😁 We stayed in hotel for evening meal which was lovely. Great choice for breakfast too. Would highly recommend and if ever in the beautiful area, would return.

The location was great, the breakfast was superb, in fact it some of the best black pudding I've ever tasted. The rooms were beautiful big and clean. I was so happy to see a bath in a big open bright bathroom. The lady who looked after the place was so welcoming and generous, I can't wait to visit this beautiful town again and stay in this same place. Thank you for your exceptional hospitality.

Great location Really clean & still holds some old charm with the fixtures & fittings. The lady on the front desk was so nice and nothing was too much trouble and as an additional bonus they have a gorgeous restaurant just downstairs. Very enjoyable and relaxing stay.

We only stayed here, in the Kennels, for one night, and certainly wish we'd had longer. It was Easter, April 9, and we chose the location for its proximity to Stonehenge where we had an evening Stone Circle entry. It was perfect for this purpose, but even more important, the setting and amenities were exceptional. Given that it was Easter, Annabel (a wonderful host) worked with us trying to find a restaurant (1) open and (2) not already totally booked. That proved impossible (our poor planning at fault here), but the copious amount of self-catering breakfast supplies she provided was more than enough to cook for our dinner and then the next morning breakfast as well. As other reviews have described, the home grown/raised/cooked provisions were amazing! The history of the Kennels and the overall property was fascinating, be sure to browse through Annabel's book depicting the renovations they did. The cottage was beautifully and thoughtfully modernized, wifi is good, shower water pressure and temperature fine, and cooking implements plentiful and well thought out. One could stay here many days in comfort to explore the local estate and this general area. Wish we'd had longer but had to move on to London to catch our flight home.

Beautiful setting, great for a wildlife lover and very comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic. Nicky (host) made us feel very welcome. We would highly recommend for a break away.

    Lovely base for exploring the area great for dog walking and close to Stonehenge and Salisbury. Very quiet small hamlet no shops except Farm shop that’s isn’t open everyday. Lovely little pub opposite with delicious food at a reasonable price

    Rather strange room in a "gothic" way with black everywhere except two gold coloured nursing chairs. and the room key did not fit in the door, The staff were fine, except one member of housekeeping staff who, as I took a bag to my car, thought I was leaving without paying for food and called after me in front of another guest. A later apology was offered abd accepted but still an unpleasant experience. I am afraid I will not visit this hotel again

    Surprisingly, the bacon was cooked well. Usually, in hotels it is hard and dry, here it was nice and tasty. The drip coffee was good as well. The hotel is located near some busy roads but it was quiet at night. Staff are friendly.
