Please NOTE. This is a review about the village - NOT my awful stay at the Clifton Hampden B&B "The Plough Inn". Clifton Hampden is a beautiful village with lots of thatched cottages, a nice church, a fairly decent pub called the Barley Mow (food was good), with the Thames flowing through the village, and a very famous singer living there. It's 20 minutes from Oxford. If only it had a decent B&B.Guest review byDave S - 8.0
Overall the village is very pleasant and quite quiet.
Overall the village is very pleasant and quite quiet. The local pub is a destination Chef and Brewer pub with a good quality of food and is very easily walkable from Clinton Hampden, although the road is a little ‘frisky’ in the dark as it is narrow and has no footpath in places, especially over the narrow bridge. Quaint old thatched cottage/house with attached bungalows nicely fitted out in remote country area (no other facilities) breakfast provided in tariff in the old house parlour was very nice.....host very friendly and hospitable.
