    We needed an overnight stay to negate the need for a very early wake up to drive to Heathrow for a 07:50 flight. The house in Colnbrook was perfectly placed and comparable in price to a Premier Inn. However, the PI option would have meant 3 adults and 1 child in a family room for the same price. The house in Colnbrook allowed us to have a room each. We also had a fan in each room which we wouldn’t have got in a PI. If you just need a base for a similar need, then it’s perfect - a place to sleep and wash. Communication with the owner was excellent. There’s a small parade of shops almost opposite that has a chippy, an Indian take away, and a ‘corner’ shop. We ordered pizzas from Dominies in Langley and they were delivered really quickly. The house is fully equipped with everything you might need if you wanted to stay longer.

    I am extremely angry at the fact that booking.com did not...

    I am extremely angry at the fact that booking.com did not alert us to the drastic drop in rating for this property. I would never have booked this place, and only did so as it was rated as a 7 when I booked at the beginning of February. Since then, there have been 10+ poor ratings (1-3) that significantly dropped the overall rating to 4.7 which to me is a blatant misrepresentation of what I initially paid for. I paid for a 7 rated property, and got a 3 at best. The area is not very nice, there are very little businesses available so we had to travel to find cups, plates and cutlery as the property did not provide any, which I was not made aware of. I would be extremely careful if booking anywhere near this area as it looks like it's been forgotten about by the local authority and the owner/s of this particular property are not carrying out any maintenance and once you book, you can't cancel for a refund. All in all, this leaves a very bad impression
