Loved the beach and seeing the steam train pass by. Good for hiking and walks on the beach. Was too far from a decent town centre. We stayed in one of the houses in a row of summer houses...
We stayed in one of the houses in a row of summer houses facing the sea, at the bottom of a steep track, which was the perfect place to unwind from life’s stresses and relax watching the sea and listening to the birds singing. Very quiet location with an other-worldly feeling, slightly isolated so it’s perfect if you want a quiet break. The stones on the beach aren’t easy to walk on but the sandy beach at St Bees makes up for it. Lovely and close to the Lakes (Wast Water was a favourite) for walking and sightseeing.
