Drumnadrochit is a lovely village next to Loch ness, there are a few village shops and a couple of pubs. You can visit the Loch ness Centre, which tells you the history of the famous Loch ness Monster. I would also recommend booking a boat tour with Loch Ness Cruises in the Village. They take you out on the Loch with their boat the Nessy Hunter, which is very good. You also have Urquhart Castle down the road, I'd recommend getting the 919 bus, this will collect you from the bus stop by the Village green and take you straight to the castle. I stayed overnight for work purposes and so I wasn't there for my own pleasure or recreation. That said. I've been through Drumnadrochit many a time and it has always been a quaint and enchanting little village with great scenery and excellent facilities. There's a few good pubs and places to eat as well as plenty of shops catering for the outdoor traveller along with the usual passing tourists. This is more of a stopover kind of place on the Great Glen Walk or the Loch Ness tourist trail and there is plenty here for the interest of most travellers.Guest review byChris ColemanUnited Kingdom - 8.0

A great place for boat tours of Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle is located just outside the village. The village itself is very pleasant with a beautiful village green which had a market on it the day we left. The Fiddlers Restaurant on the village green was a great place to eat, drink and watch the world go by. Urquhart Castle is well worth visiting with a great visitor centre and Loch Ness as a splendid backdrop to the stunning castle remains.Guest review byStephenHong Kong - 10.0

This is from previous experience as the hotel I stayed in was some distance outside. Drumnadrochit is a lovely little town and well worth stopping over for a night on your travels. Fab little village, friendly and welcoming. Great base for exploring the area. Just plan your evening meals as not much choice after 5pm. Everything Nessi related can be found here. The town (or village) is very nice and compact. It has the perfect location, very close to Uruqhart Castle and the Loch Ness itself, and at the same time has a direct access to the Affric and Uruqhart Glen, west to Loch Ness. However, if you are more interested in the eastern shores of Loch Ness, you shouldn't stay in Drumnadrochit, because then you'll have to drive at least an hourGuest review byAnonymousIsrael
