The front desk was terrible and gave us a downgrade on our room and then told us there was nothing that could be done due to being sold out and because we used Bookings.com. We complained, asked for the manager and showed the pictures on a Superior room from their website and on our booking. He moved us to a family room, but it had 2 double beds and two chairs seating vs a Superior room has a king bed and a settee and a desk. Scenic and interesting place to visit with a variety of shops, mainly upmarket, and numerous venues at which to eat and or drink including a very large Wetherspoons. There are several charity shops. Lots of activities on the riverside including those for children. High street parking was paid for by using an app but there are other car parks including the one by the rowing museum. The bed was very comfortable and it was quiet, so I had a good nights sleep. The bathroom had an excellent shower. The full english breakfast which was included in the price again was exellent. Also there was a kitchen facility for guests to cook a meal. Natalie and Ray were very friendly and even offered us lifts into Henley. The Catherine Wheel is right in the middle of Henley, easy to find and the room was spacious and very comfortable. Really good value for money. It's attached to a Wetherspoons which was great for breakfast - bottomless coffee etc.. And we had a meal on our first night which was excellent too.
