Owner and staff were extremely friendly. Whilst travelling alone for work its always nice to stay in a friendly and open environment, and this hotel certainly didn't disappoint. After been given my room key of a lovely room I went downstairs for dinner and a drink in the nice pub/restaurant. After dinner I had a chat with the owner and staff whom were all very friendly. I was there for work, but if I would be going on holiday in the area, i would definitely stay a few nights with them again. I can recommend!

If I had to describe the stay in just one word, it would be, without a doubt, Excellent! Pauline was very friendly and attentive and made sure nothing was missing. The house is great, in addition to all the possible accommodations, from the kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms, there is absolutely nothing missing, it has great decoration and an incredible view. I felt at home, and it was so good. Thank you Pauline, I want to come back!

Very dog friendly 🐕 😁. Great breakfast. Our dog had a nice couch (with steps) to itself in the breakfast room. We stayed in a 2 bedroom section which was very well furnished. Comfy beds. Fantastic views. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

    The cabin at Cefn Mawr was so restful and the views...

    The cabin at Cefn Mawr was so restful and the views spectacular- the photos do not capture it well enough. We were just there for a weekend - (for an off roading experience in vintage land rovers in Mochdre - which we would also highly recommend! ) but I would definitely go back for a longer stay and more exploring of mid wales, the elan valley and other attractions in the area. If I could drag myself away from that view……(and the hot tub!) Just a few minutes drive north of Newtown, along a narrow road with farm and a few houses it felt very remote and quiet, and yet easy access to the town for supplies and restaurants (we enjoyed the Italian - la Terrazzo).
