Simply one of the best properties I’ve ever stayed in. Lovingly and tastefully decorated but also comfortable. An unmatchable location opposite the village church in the heart of historic Lacock. And great value for money.

It is a beautiful historical house. The owner as well as the staff are very friendly and helpful and willing to share history of the town. The facilities are good and done in line with the character of the building. And I loved the bath products that were supplied. It smelled absolutely divine. The breakfast was huge and really well prepared.

The hotel is very quirky and has some very interesting rooms, furniture and items. The complimentary prosecco upon arrival was a lovely surprise. Both the evening meal and the breakfast were very professionally prepared and served also in a very interesting room full of atmosphere.

I loved checking out the Abbey and the Church and walking around this historic village. Beautiful and mind-blowing how much history there is there. It was also really fun to be where Downton Abbey and Harry Potter and more were filmed.

Great place to visit with plenty of selection of places to eat. The grounds of the abbey are beautiful and the abbey and house worth a visit but only partially open when we visited. Great for Harry Potter fans

Quintessential English village which is owned by the national trust along with Lacock Abbey. The village and abbey have been used as a filming location for numerous films and TV series and it really does feel like going back 200 years- except for the cars!! The Abbey currently has an exhibition centred around Henry Fox Talbot who is credited as the inventor of photography which is well worth a visit, the Abbey itself is very interesting and the various National Trust guides were the most helpful and informative we have come across in virtually all our NT visits.

Pretty little town to walk around with lots of interesting buildings and history. The Rectory is highly recommended as accommodation. A few nice pub options in the town for a drink and to eat. Easy to get to by car and also to explore other places in the area.
