Didn’t really know anything about the place before going, rich in history, the Abbey was well worth the visit. The cottage is very cute, the location was great short drive into Bath Which was our main purpose. Sadly I left 2 shirts in the wardrobe but the owner's posted them on to our address at the end of July thanks for going the extra mile. This was our first visit to Malmesbury and we fell in love with it. It has some excellent shops and some fantastic places to eat. The beer at the Whole Hog was great and the food really good, the staff are very friendly and attentive. It has a great small market on a Friday. The Abbey and museum are well worth a visit and the people are so friendly and helpful. Pretty town and the Abbey is wonderful. Everyone we met in shops, cafes and the street etc. were delightful and very friendly - and obviously proud of their town and all praised the community spirit. A very warm and welcoming atmosphere - and they should be proud. (Quite difficult to buy a Guardian newspaper though!)
