The room was beautiful and had everything you could need; Tobias was so friendly and helpful; the breakfast was great and catered to our dietary requirements; and the location was gorgeous and really peaceful. All in all, it was a wonderful stay and we won't hesitate to book again next time we're in the area.

Great lodge spotlessly clean with everything you'll need for a perfect stay. Good quality furniture and beds. Wonderful to watch the wildlife. So peaceful but within easy distance to the town. The owners were so helpful with a small issue we had and was resolved quickly.

    Palnackie is a peaceful village with a small harbour set on the River Urr. It has a pub, village shop, post office and cafe (open Thurs-Sat at present). The village makes an ideal base for walking, hiking, mountain-biking, or simply relaxing. The towns of Dalbeattie and Castle Douglas are are short drive away for food shopping and the larger town of Dumfries has a multitude of shops to explore if that's your thing. The scenery around Palnackie is absolutely stunning, the air is clean and the locals are extremely friendly - what more can you ask for!
