Stable Cottage provided us with a truly delightful and relaxing stay. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the generous size of the cottage, offering ample space to unwind and feel at home. The interior decoration was a particular highlight, beautifully designed and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. Comfort was clearly a priority, and we found the cottage to be exceptionally well-equipped and furnished. One of the standout features was the lovely garden, a true haven of tranquility. It proved to be an excellent addition, especially for those traveling with a dog, offering plenty of space to roam and enjoy the outdoors. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and informative, making us feel instantly at ease. Their helpfulness and attention to detail greatly enhanced our experience. They were readily available to answer any questions and provided valuable local recommendations.

Breakfast and stuff were out of this world, the best service ever. The hotel is very beautiful and authentic with the vibes of Edinburgh. Free coffee to go, free wi-fi, 1 minute away from a bus stop. There was no EU socket in the room, but the lovely receptionist happily provided us with 2 adapters and we were saved :)

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful experience overall. Though the location is not in the city centre, it is well-connected with good bus services, making it easy to get around without any hassle. One of the highlights of my stay was the excellent staff. From check-in to check-out, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, ensuring that all my needs were met promptly and professionally. The hotel itself is modern and impeccably clean, with stylish decor throughout. My room was no exception, featuring a super comfortable bed that made it easy to get a good night's sleep. There was a minor issue with the door to my room, but it was quickly resolved once I reported it to the staff, which speaks volumes about their commitment to guest satisfaction. Both the check-in and check-out processes went smoothly, contributing to a stress-free stay. The accommodation at Prestonfield House and the quality of service is out of this world. From the rooms, decor, setting and grounds to the quality of the service, food and staff, I would say a rating of 10/10 is too low. My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it will go down as a special moment in our memories. And we are definitely planning to return.

Everything was clean and neat and location was excellent! Room looked like pictures, wi-fi was strong and there was a few different plugs so I didn't need to use my adapter (EU). Whole staff, include reception, bartender and cleaning ladies, where nice and caring. It took only about 15min walk to the Old Town were most of the sights. There was also some sandwich cafe across the road and in next building was Tesco shop you can buy some food.

    There are two Roslins.

    There are two Roslins. There’s the village with its mixture of old traditional houses and newer estates. Then there’s historic Roslin centred around the Rosslyn chapel made world famous by the Da Vinci Code book and film. The chapel is amazing and one visit will never be enough. There are also picturesque walks overlooking Roslin Glen and the remains of Rosslyn castle. There’s a good cafe in the chapel visitor centre and Dolly’s cafe in the village. The Original Roslin Inn has a good restaurant and bar. Excellent bus service from central Edinburgh

    Our favourite places were the National Gallery in Edinburgh,...

    Our favourite places were the National Gallery in Edinburgh, Jupiter Art land and Mary's Milk Bar in Stockbridge. We would have visited Roslyn Chapel again had we stayed for longer. We ate at Henderson's, a Michelin listed vegetarian restaurant in Edinburgh. The food was excellent and the staff was attentive and friendly. St Giles' church on the Royal Mile was worth a visit, especially the family chapel with exquisite wooden carvings.

    We came to the Rosalyn inn for a birthday party we stayed over from checking in to a lovely meal in the restaurant the party venue itself it was top class finally our room was absolutely beautiful and lovely breakfast in the morning well done to everyone it was fantastic

    From the freshly baked bread that we were greeted with to the warm welcome we received, the whole stay was amazing. So much space as we have a young baby, this really helped. The hosts Dave & Irene make the accommodation what it is. The attention to detail is second to none. A beautifully styled and homely place to stay. Would recommend to anyone. So clean and fresh.     It was a beautiful place.

    It was a beautiful place. It has everything you need to be comfortable and more! We really enjoyed our stay. The bus stop to Edinburgh was just a few steps from the place and for a few pounds it took us directly to the Royal Mile. We left the car at the property. The owner is great. He gave us information about the country, advises, maps, etc. The property is perfect and it has thoughtful things to make your stay pleasant.

    What a wonderful atmospheric chapel.

    What a wonderful atmospheric chapel. And the grounds were amazing too. We had a talk from a local lady who had lots of detailed descriptions of how the chapel came to be erected - and the stories surrounding the people who owned it, or worked there, or were apprenticed there. The site has a great Visitor Centre, with a varied selection of goodies to buy as mementos of our visit. They also have a cafe selling a range of snacks, breakfasts, brunches and lunches., hot and cold drinks. Super place, extraordinary chapel, interesting grounds and helpful, pleasent staff. I wouldn't say no to a repeat visit if we happen to be in the area again. 5 star+ experience.

    Location in easy reach of Edinburgh centre by regular public buses, a short walk into historic Roslin village and to Easter Bush campus. Pentland hills easily accessible if you have your own transport. A great location with city and country equidistant. Very comfortable beds, super clean and tidy. I don't think i've ever seen a larger television! Lovely touches like freshly made bread and flowers from the garden - so lovely and kind; almost making too much effort!

    This is a wonderful hotel. The rooms are comfortable and really stylish. The breakfast is exceptional. We also had dinner at the restaurant and the steak pie was absolutely amazing. It's brilliant for transport links with a bus stop right outside for the city centre. We would absolutely stay here again.

    This house is located in a quiet neighborhood of Edinburgh, in the small village of Roslin. It is fine for a short visit with a family. The house was well cleaned, the beds were comfortable. The kitchen is small but adequate. The owner was quite responsive.
