Supberb location in a beautiful quiet village. Really friendly staff and a lovely beer garden to sit and relax. The evening meal was delicious and good value for money and a plentiful breakfast set us up for the day ahead. The bedroom was small but cosy with a good size ensuite and a really comfy bed. I'd certainly recommend this pub as a great place to stay if you want somewhere to stay in peace and quiet and without the noise of the surrounding busy towns.

It was a quaint and newly furnished inn. We wanted to spend the night at Cotswold and chanced upon this inn which was highly rated by other tourists. The room was very large, modern and super comfortable with an ensuite toilet. There is free parking and dogs are all welcome. Staff were super helpful and friendly, they seem to take great pride in working at Bird in Hand. Breakfast was sumptuous and I enjoyed it thoroughly. There are limited rooms so do book early.

Location & scenery fab.

Location & scenery fab. Hut was clean, but missing a few finishing touches - not luxury items, but no welcome pack, no toiletries or hairdryer. Dinner plate had huge chip & one window couldn’t be closed as latch was broken in half !

We didn't explore the village itself as we had only 3 full days and drove to the bigger villages. A car is a must but you don't have to drive far to find a good meal. We enjoyed The Lamb twice -a 5 minute drive and The Shaven Head once, only a few minutes further away. Lovely to be on a working farm and so peaceful at Daisy's Rest with expansive views of the glorious countryside. Went to Tew, a tiny village with a couple of lovely looking pubs with rooms and gorgeous chocolate-box thatched cottages....so photogenic!!

There are not many facilities in the village but the community had developed and maintained a wooded area (Enchanted Wood?) which provided a lovely short walk. There were 2 other places to eat but we did travel to Burford 4 miles away when we wanted a change from the menu in Wychwood.

Huge room which included separate sofas to lounge in. Bathroom was also large and roomy with a large shower area. Huge fluffy bath sheet-size towels and a very comfy king sized bed. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Shipton is a small village with two pubs for choice of dining. Both were fantastic for food choice and ambience. Location of the town was perfect for exploring the Cotswolds without having the hordes of tourists descending on you😁. Would highly recommend this place to stay

A fleeting visit. Plenty of walks in this small village . Lovely old properties to see. Village green and 3 pubs. Very near Burford , 4 miles, which in my opinion is very expensive to stay in now. Shipton under Wychwood is a much better option at half the price

Wonderful town--it doesn't get as much press as other places in the Cotswolds, but it's been by far my favorite. Plenty of farmland and trails to walk on. We were able to walk from Chipping Norton to Shipton-under-Wychwood just along public farm trails (used AllTrails for guidance). Highly recommend a visit and a long country walk!

Very comfortable and quite historic looked lovely with all the candles lit for those dining in the evening, the owner was very attentive and we had a good conversation regarding the hotel, we only ate breakfast but there was a good selection of either full english, or vegetarian, yoghurts and fruit or muesli

Quaint. Charming. Good value. Helpful staff. Lovely bath in room. Good location for Cotswold villages. Nice, cosy room. Decent food in pub - not as good as you could get elsewhere, but a nice option if not wanting to leave the hotel (unsure if food in restaurant area is better). Breakfast was nice.
