Easy to walk around with plenty of small individual shops, Unfortunatly it was too cold for us to spend much time on the Promenade which appeared to be very nice. Wonderful views from the top of Jacobs Ladder.

Sidmouth is a lovely sea-side town of a type I had feared no longer existed! We last visited c. 30 years ago and it has not changed except for the better. It is still very quiet and friendly, and has a good mixture of shops etc. The sea-front is on a level which of course appeals to those with reduced mobility.

A lovely seaside town with different and quirky shops, tasty bakeries, and good restaurants. There's a small cinema and theatre. Nice walk a long the seafront. The beach looked clean and looked after. The museum was good and the walk along the river was pleasant. We ate at Neil's, Roma and the Cinnamon Tree - all served good portions of tasty food.

As we live in Sidmouth, the hotel wasn't far from home.

As we live in Sidmouth, the hotel wasn't far from home. The town is unspoilt(so far!) with a nice atmosphere, plenty of choice of shops, (few big names like Crew Company/Fat Face/Edinburgh Woolen Mill) plus lots of cafes and restaurants. The beach is shingle except when tide is out. Thankfully NO amusement arcades! Delightful area near beach for walking (Jacob's Ladder) as well as Connaught Gardens. A few carparks in town, a larger one just few minutes walk to town. 18 hole golf course just outside the town.

Lovely promenade and my partner loved the shops! We ate in our hotel. Busy little town with narrow pavements in places but we got around OK. Could be somewhat tricky though for those needing to use trolley walkers.

Jonty and his team at The Mount Pleasant Hotel were just amazing and very welcoming. We had an upgrade to our room, and the food (both the 3-course evening meal and breakfast) was absolutely amazing. The food was extremely fresh, very tasty, and served piping hot to your table. Highly recommended for great value and easy location for access to Sidmouth and surrounding areas. We will definitely return. This is a family run hotel, and it shows! Well done.

Very good location, short walk to seafront, nice to be away from the busier area, great to have parking available too as not all hotels in sidmouth have parking. Breakfast was lovely, staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much for them. Bed was comfortable, room and hotel was clean, fans were available at desk as room was warm.
