Arrived slightly early (20 mins) but room still not ready, waited a further half hour and were told we would have upgrade to larger room however reception experience not great. Room was clean and well appointed with a very comfortable bed. Evening meal poor, menu incorrectly typed leading to confusion and food overcooked and tasteless. Breakfast buffet very tired looking, bacon inedible, mushrooms tough and fried egg solid as opposed to runny. We used this location as it is close to a railway station...
We used this location as it is close to a railway station into Oxford. Parking at the station appeared to be free as we could not find a pay machine. We also used the Oxford park and ride - it was excellent and very reasonably priced. I also played golf at Kirtlington (about 10 miles away). The hotel grounds, most facilities, and location were all good - the reason for selecting along with the price. Reservations made via Booking.com, with payment on arrival - for room and breakfast. However, it soon went wrong because breakfast seating (party of 6) was a problem - we were given excuses about too many guests and too few staff - even though they took our money as soon as we arrived. Oxford Parkway park and ride is a short drive as is Blenheim Palace. The village is quiet and peaceful. The cottage has parking for two cars and a small garden with outdoor seating. Spacious, colour-coordinated, softly lit, super comfy room, looking out on a scenic garden courtyard.
