Great place just at the harbor of Stonehaven, picture-perfect view from the room, tea and refreshments provided. After a short walk of about 3 km you reach Dunnottar Castle. Friendly staff, good food and great whisky recommendations. Also not a problem to go for a short stroll after the main course and come back afterwards for the dessert with my table held free for me. Top service, even giving a good recommendation for an alternative walk to the station on my departure day.

Stonehaven is a quaint little town by the sea.

Stonehaven is a quaint little town by the sea. Dunnottar Castle is the superstar here! There are plenty of options for dining and some lively pubs. Much of the town is walkable so it’s easy to get around. We only stayed for two nights but could have stayed longer. A short drive took us into a much larger town of Aberdeen. We explored Old Aberdeen with its university and history. Highly recommend Stonehaven.

Stonehaven is a lovely little town with lots of pubs and cafe in which the staff are friendly and welcoming. There is lots to do for both adults and children. The walk along the front is fantastic and guaranteed to clear the head. A visit to Dunnottar Castle is also a must!

We loved the quaint shops the market place to people watch . The beach front walks discovering the harbour. I personally found it for a woman alone walking in the early morning s very relaxing dog walkers were friendly and l enjoyed my pace and looking at architecture and the amount of cafe s and entertainment fir kids and adults .

The walk along the harbor has some great art installations.

The walk along the harbor has some great art installations. A 2.5 mile hike takes you to Dunnottar Castle with a war memorial along the way. Breathtaking views along the coastal walk. We didn't get out of the harbor but there was a coop store close by and only a mile from the train station.

Stonehaven is a lovely town with good transport links to the surrounding area. There are a variety of shops and places to eat with something for everyone. As regular visitors to Stonehaven we always eat at our favourite Indian restaurant, Carron to Mumbai. The art deco restaurant is beautiful and the food is exceptional. The owner and staff make you feel very welcome. I would recommend a visit.

Stonehaven is a cute village with 2 pubs/restaurants. Not much to do but definitely a must see! The Captains Table restaurant was lovely and must be booked in advance as very busy and turning many people away.

The owner of the hotel (Lesley) is absolutely lovely and so welcoming and positive! And so are her team. Sadly I had to cut my trip short due to a family issue and so stayed for only one night. It would have been really nice to experience a few days. The room was very clean and the beds very comfortable. If you were want access to Stonehaven train station, it’s literally 30 seconds away. Then probably a pleasant 15 min walk to the centre of Stonehaven. Breakfast is good.

The hotel was in the perfect location, right next to the beach. There was lots of parking right next to the hotel which was a bonus. The room was cosy and clean. I was especially happy with breakfast as it had multiple vegetarian options for myself and tasted delicious. The woman who checked us in and served our breakfast was very friendly and made our stay even better. I will definitely be back if I ever find myself in the area around Stone haven again.

The Ship Inn is ideally located at Stonehaven harbour. The accommodation was immaculately clean, the staff friendly and attentive and the breakfast very good. I have family connections with the area, so I know it well and love it. My other half is not from the area, but it is one of his favourite places too.
