This is my 3rd time in Stratford-upon-Avon.
This is my 3rd time in Stratford-upon-Avon. It is a beautiful small town. The places basically is reachable by walking. Both Shakespeare's birthplace and Ann Hathaway's cottage are worth to visit. We also have a wonderful time at the Butterfly Farm. I like the small crepe shop and had wonderful dinner at a small Japanese style restaurant. We like the location on the river and all the historic buildings. We have visited Stratford many times before and so did not visit the buildings this time, we had tickets Measure for Measure at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. The production was very good, as always. There are various walking tours of the town on offer which would give one an idea of the important buildings to visit. ...take care to avoid accommodation in apparently 'period' hotels but where rooms are located in contemporary 'annexes' lacking the expected historic character..... Stratford-upon-Avon was - you might be aware - the birthplace of the great bard, William Shakespeare. It contains such delights as the birthplace of William Shakespeare, the birthplace of William Shakespeare's wife, William Shakespeare's school, and the site of William Shakespeare's house later in life. It's a great place to visit, if you want to see the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Lots to see and do all within walking distance of town centre . Butterfly farm, places to eat, river cruises, canal side walks, fascinating places relating to W. Shakespeare, and the RSC tower for views, and free exhibition re costume and plays over the years. The staff were all friendly & helpful, very good breakfast (dogs allowed) in one area of the dining room. Spacious comfortable room on ground floor within easy reach of the exit to car park and out to the riverside walks and pedestrian bridge to the town side. We stayed for our wedding night and the effort they went to for us was incredible! We had a free upgrade and champagne on arrival with little extras in the room for us too! Thank you so much. In addition, the staff were polite and helpful. The hotel was spotless and parking is onsite with extra close by.
