Very friendly, almost like staying with friends.
Very friendly, almost like staying with friends. In the evening food was available from a limited menu, either to eat in the cosy club bar or in one's room. As warned, there is no television in the rooms to avoid messing up the panelling and decor of this beautiful listed house. Very comfortable beds with Egyptian cotton sheets and pillows of the right softness (feathers). We prefer blankets to duvets and this was no problem. The only thing we might have liked was some sort of fish on the menu for breakfast, but this was a very slight quibble. All in all, can't recommend it enough.Guest review bySarahUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The area is beautiful and lovely to explore on foot and by car. I imagine it would be good biking country too. It was sleepy at the start of October, with nothing much happening in Timberscombe itself.
