Visit for a weekend and stay on the peninsula over the bridge for the old fishing village charm. Around the old harbour good evening hang outs. Walk to Nothe castle and admire the old town winding alleys. If you go when the weather is fine you will enjoy clear sea water swimming. The main town shopping area typical of seaside towns, a bit run down. If you enjoy golfing Lodmoor park. Good for a family weekend or a romantic weekend. A good centre for either a beach holiday or for visiting the surrounding area. There is plenty of historical interest in the town particularly if you are interested in railways. The surrounding area provides good walking of the coastal path and the Downs. The front door to the seaside meant that I could be on the beach in less time than it took the kettle to boil! The situation is perfect. Easy walk to the town offering everything you could need. The breakfast was superb and the freshly cooked buffet set my day up beautifully. Everybody working at the hotel was very friendly and made my stay even more delightful.
