We stayed there for 2 weeks and we liked almost everything! It’s a fresh, modern, comfortable hotel. nice staff, cleaning EVERY day, great breakfast. a hotel is small, so you want face many people and you’ll stay in a quite atmosphere. the beach is beautiful and almost empty. you can take beach towels and umbrellas for free and it’s absolutely convenient. The staff is very responsive and friendly. The hotel is quite distanced from the main town so you’d better rent a car

· Location is great. The hotel is located on the beach and you can reach the sea in 5 minutes from you room. Room: being a family with 2 kids we have rented a family apartment (2 rooms and a shared bathroom) - which was perfect. It had a huge loge and the sea could be seen on the windows. The beds where comfortable with conditional air, one fridge, TV-s and nothing in addition you could want. Food: our booking was in "all inclusive" mode - so we have enjoyed 3 meals/day. The food was more than enough for all tastes. You could find all type of food and in sufficient quantities and each one can choose how much and what to eat. For sure much more food than you have at home :) Fun: aquatic park - very nice for small kids. The swimming pool - huge enough and with young people to animate the activities and bring more fun to the guests of the hotel. The beach has not sand but small stones - you can walk without dedicated shoes. And it was great that after a bath in the sea to lay down on the beach to be warm by the sun. The hotel representative: GREAT! we have been invites for a meeting with a hotel manager and we have spent a delightful 1 hour. Having a rented car, we have received recommendations for trips and visits in the east of the island. Great tips and ideas and we have appreciated the explanations and the ideas considering that some of the information could not be necessary be found on the internet. Disliked · I have nothing to complain about. Just to copy a piece of advice received and which represent also what I consider: in case you look something to complain, than you can probably find something; but if you find one or more things you like if you focus on them, than the positive aspects overtakes and overshine everything else.

The owner has tried very hard to create an extremely pleasant apartment and has succeeded. As I was travelling with my brother we really appreciated having our own bedrooms. The harbour, shops and restaurants are a short walk away. There is plenty of room to park a car.

One needs a car to visit all the beaches and to have trips to Ag. Nikolaus, Sitia and Ierapetra. There is a saturday market in Ierapetra. Not all the tavernas on the beach are recommended: for example the one on Achlia Beach and the restaurant from Nalu.

A perfect place to explore East Crete!

A perfect place to explore East Crete! There are numerous beaches in the area for all kinds of tastes, making it great for snorkeling. Many excellent and very affordable food choices exist. Furthermore, there are opportunities for canyoning (Butterfly Gorge and Milonas Gorge), and with a car, you can easily reach several other amazing places, such as Xerokampos Beach, the Minoan Palace of Zakros, Sarakinas Gorge, and many others.

By all means check out all of the local (lovely) tavernas. Limanaki Beach is a must (though it's a 13 minutes' drive away from Achlia, actually. People are nice, helpful and friendly, and the weather is great 24/7. DO go there, if you have time (and a car :-) ).

- The small corner row house is more than fully and lovingly equipped! - The great location directly on the beautiful beach of Achlia is also ideal. Of course, this means it's not absolutely quiet. - The private parking space is a real plus, especially on weekends when the beach is well-visited.

We really loved the mountain-side location overlooking the picturesque Achlia bay! The Stone cottage was beautifully layed-out and the air-con was well-used during our July stay. We had frequent visits down to the beach and enjoyed having the Taverna there too.
